Erik wakes up on the floor facedown with a splitting headache.
It takes him a moment to realize where he is, and it’s the floor that tips him off. The dark blue carpet of his childhood bedroom. He raises his head, groans at the pounding in his skull that results, and settles for just looking in the direction of his bed, trying to determine why he’s not in it.
